Customer-ready estimates

Make the scope easy to buy—and hard to misunderstand.

A polished estimate is useful because it is inspectable. Branding helps recognition; scope and arithmetic create trust.

Put identity and job context first

Show the installer business name, customer, service address, estimate number, and selected package prominently. Confirm the right property and revision before sending.

Describe each item in customer language

Use recognizable areas and products. “Front roofline, warm-white C9” is easier to inspect than an internal SKU alone. State takedown, storage, timers, extension paths, and custom greenery when they are included.

Compare packages by scope

Good/Better/Best only works when the customer can see what changes. Avoid a deliberately crippled Good option or a Best package that includes vague promises.

Reconcile the money

Show subtotal, markup only if customer-facing by your policy, tax, total, deposit, and remaining balance. The deposit plus balance must equal the total after rounding.

Preview the exported document

Review the actual PDF—not only the editor screen—for clipped text, stale customer details, wrong package selection, missing items, and ambiguous disclaimers.
